24x7 Direct Alarm System for Homes

Mandatory fire alert systems will soon be installed at all new villas and apartments in Dubai as the Dubai Civil Defence overhauls fire safety at homes.

During a press conference at Intersec 2014, Lt Col Jamal Ahmad Ebrahim, Director of Preventive Safety Department, Dubai Civil Defence said, ""The project is part of Dubai government’s efforts to make the city the safest in the world. So we have been planned to install the life and safety systems at homes. In the first phase we will start with new villas and buildings and in the next phase will move to existing building.

Reduced number of serious incidents

The 24x7 Command Control Center has captured more than 4071 real life safety alarms since the time of its inception. The Command Control Center has played a vital role in capturing and preventing fire and life safety incidents in Dubai. Statistics show steady reduction in serious incidents in Dubai owing to faster response and timely maintenance of life and safety systems. Until 31st January 2014, 53,561 assets have been subscribed to the Direct Alarm System. The overall number of fire accidents has declined from 631 in 2007, before the system was launched, to 380 in 2013.
